Flamborough Head

Set a top of spectacular stretch of white cliffs, Flamborough Head is a top spot for nature lovers. On this nature reserve you’ll never been short of things to do. From watching the huge colonies of sea birds on the cliffs and hiking along the many paths, to even exploring the coastline from the water in kayak, Flamborough Head shows the true beauty of the Yorkshire coastline. It is no surprise that this area is a Special Area of Conservation.

How to get there?

You’ll find Flamborough head up along the coastline from Bridlington and while it is out in the sticks, it is pretty easy to get to. You can use the postcode YO15 1AR which will take you directly there.

There is good amount of parking, with an overfill area, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it filled up during the summer so as always, try and beat the crowd.

What wildlife is there?

Visiting in the summer months is very exciting. The cliffs are packed with tens of thousands of birds, from gannets and gulls to even puffins. These ginormous seabird colonies are some of the most important in Europe.

If you look down at the water below, you’ll even spot seals playing in the water and depending on where you venture, you may find a beach with even more laying out in the sun.
